The Tree of Life mural is currently going up in the hospital’s main reception area, as part of an organ donation campaign currently being run by the foundation trust.

The aim of the campaign, which was launched in July, is to raise awareness of the significance of organ donation amongst staff and members of the local community, a spokesman for the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust told Chad.

The design is set to be officially unveiled at an ‘Inside Your Body’ open day from 10am on 16th November.

Ben Cole, from the organ donation team, said: “We are keen to promote the importance of organ donation and the difference it makes to so many lives.”

The trust is also running a poster competition to raise awareness. There are separate categories for children aged under 10, and 10 and over.

Winners will be announced at the open day, with prizes for first, second and third place in each category.
