And the life-changing appeal has received another boost after Wooden Spoon became the latest business to choose the appeal as their charity of the year.

The company has pledged to donate 10p from every jar of their preserves, jams and marmalades to the college’s fundraising as well as taking charity collection tins to all the events and shows they attend.

“Their products are superb and will be on sale here at the College at our upcoming Spring Fair and beyond. Portland College are proud to be associated with them and look forward to a successful partnership.”

The top quality academy would focus on wheelchair rugby, boccia, football, badminton and wheelchair basketball with individuals encouraged to access these sports for recreation and fitness, together with training to compete at all levels of sport.

Lindsey and Robert, who recently received a bronze award at The World’s Original Marmalade Awards, have also visited the college to give advice to students working on social enterprise projects about how to set up, run, and promote their own businesses.

They are the latest business to back the appeal after Mansfield-based firm Atmospheric Interiors also chose the appeal for their charity of the year.
