Tattoo, beans and piercing for charity

A Bulwell gymnast coach is taking on a number of fundraising challenges in aid of a cancer charity.

Andrew White runs Bare Feet Cheerleading and Gymnastics Group and signed up for a number of money raising activities in aid of CLIC Sargent children’s cancer charity after a member was hit by the disease.

“One of my students found out she has a form of cancer and is having treatment for it but she is losing her hair so said she would be sponsored to have her head shaved,” explained Andrew.

“Her fellow cheerleaders and parents have been coming up with ideas to boost the fundraising since and as their coach they have challenged me to join in the fun.”

Andrew is now planning to have his head shaved too, get his toe and fingernails painted and nose pierced

as well as get a small tattoo on my foot of the CLIC Sargent flower logo and finally sitting in a bath or paddling pool of baked beans, jelly, custard and gunge.

“The head shave, nose piercing and nail painting is to take place at Dudley’s Hair and Beauty in Bulwell on 20th February,” added Andrew. “But I need somebody to volunteer to do my tattoo and we also need a venue for the baked bean event and donations of beans, custard, jelly and Gunge.”

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer.
