A Mansfield man appeared before the courts for texting the victim of an alleged assault.
David John Deakin, 55, of Chesterfield Road South, pleaded guilty to breaching a court order banning him from contacting the woman.
He denies assaulting the woman on April 15 and was bailed to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on April 27 for the trial.
Robert Carr, prosecuting, said that when police visited the alleged victim to take a statement Mr Deakin rang her. An officer answered and he rang off.
Chris Lacey, mitigating, said: “All he wanted to do was have his property. He sent a text message asking to collect clothes.”
Magistrates bailed him until the trial and allowed him to visit, accompanied by a police officer, to collect his belongings.
