Thieves steal tools in crime spree on vans

Police have mounted an operation aimed at catching thieves who are targeting vans in Annesley and Underwood.

Most recently, thieves forced open the driver’s door lock and stole power tools from a Ford Transit van parked on the verge of Little Oak Avenue, Annesley Woodhouse, sometime between 7pm on Friday 1st May and 6.45am on Saturday 2nd May.

Overnight, on Monday 4th May in Palmerston Street, Westwood, a Silver Citroen Berlingo van was entered by forcing the driver’s side door handle and lock and both the rear doors were also damaged. A Makita Drill set was stolen. Between 6pm on Saturday 2nd May and 8.45am on Tuesday 5th May in Plainspot Road, Underwood, a white Ford Transit Connect van was broken into and power tools were stolen.

Between 7.30pm on Tuesday 5th May and 8.30am on Wednesday 6th May in Beech Road, Underwood, a Peugeot Boxer van was broken into. A DeWalt Laser, Passload nail gun, Bosch drill, Makita impact driver and radio were stolen. Between 7pm on Tuesday 5th May and 6.15am the next day in Beech Road, Underwood, a Citroen van was broken into and two Husqvarna 570 Disk Cutters were stolen.
