Ashley Lambley 27 pleaded guilty to the theft of a multi-tool and bike light to the value of £10 from a bicycle parked outside Tesco at Chesterfield on May 9th.

He appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday with his co-accused Willem Brewer, 22 of no fixed abode, who claimed to have been his lookout.

Lambley fled after he was confronted by security at the store, and later handed himself in. He said he had been shopping for sandpaper and foolishly decided to take the items.

The case was adjourned to 16th June for reports.
