Police are warning drivers that works vans are being targeted by thieves mainly in the east part of town after three vans were broken into and a fourth break-in was attempted.
A hands free kit, wallet, SatNav, chainsaw and other tools were stolen, between midnight and 7am on Friday 13th March, from a locked van, parked in Main Road, Jacksdale. Between 7.30pm on Monday 16th March and 7.45am on the next day at the Premier Inn, Nottingham Road, Hucknall, a Vauxhall Vito van was forced open and a Tom Tom SatNav, Bosch drill, Makita drill, heat gun and transformer, plus other tools were stolen.
On Tuesday 17th March between 10pm and 11pm in Jenny Burton Way, Hucknall, the drivers door lock was damaged of a Peugeot Partner van. No entry was gained. Between 7pm on Tuesday 17th March and 8.10am on Wednesday 18 March at the Premier Inn, Nottingham Road, a Peugeot Partner van was broken into and a Makita drill, impact driver, and other tools were stolen.
A spokesman advised drivers where possible to remove tools from vehicles especially during the hours of darkness.
