Third man arrested in Brodie murder case is bailed

THE third man arrested on suspicion of the murder of James Brodie has been bailed.

The 34-year-old was arrested yesterday, Thursday 14th February, in Nottingham.

James Brodie, who was 19 and from Bulwell, is believed to have gone missing shortly after Ravenshead jeweller Marian Bates was shot dead during a robbery at the Time Centre, in Arnold, in September 2003.

He has not made any contact with family or friends in more than nine years.

Last week searches at Maize Farm, in East Heckington, Lincolnshire, resulted in a number of samples being sent off for further scientific tests.

Dean Betton, 32, of Raleigh Street, Radford, has been charged with James Brodie’s murder.

A 31-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of James Brodie’s murder, was released on bail, pending further enquiries.
