TIbshelf: Parents of pupils are online savvy

Parents of Tibshelf Community School and Sports College are among those in Derbyshire being praised for embracing technology - by completing their secondary school applications online.

This year, 99.4% of parents made their application to Derbyshire County Council via the web, up from 98.5% last year. Only 41 parents completed a paper form.

Coun Jim Coyle, the county council’s deputy cabinet member for children and young people, said: “The system is easy for parents to use and simpler for staff to process.”

Applications for primary school admissions are now being accepted. The closing date is 15th January 2014.
