TODDLERS got in the groove when they made musical instruments during the launch of a new weekly playgroup in Bulwell.
Children aged up to five are eligible to join the drop-in Monday sessions at the Ravensworth Road Methodist Church.
The group was initially launched on a five-week trial but after two sessions, it has been so popular that organisers say it will continue to run during school-term time.
Activities include free play and craft, which has so far seen the children make shakers and guitars.
There is also a focus on reading and counting, while healthy refreshments, including fresh fruit, are also provided.
At the helm is Rachel Coupe, who is employed by the Grace Project, which places children’s workers into churches part time. The rest of the helpers are volunteers.
Said Rachel: “The whole programme is geared towards good social and educational development.”
