Hucknall’s Rotary Club has a new president in the shape of former Linby Colliery deputy, Tony Gluchowski.

Tony was handed the chains of office by outgoing president, Ian Young, becoming the 82nd person to hold this office in the club’s 88 year history.

Born and bred in Hucknall, Mr Gluchowski attended Butler’s Hill and Beardall Street schools.

Tony’s wife Diane is an active member of Hucknall’s Inner Wheel Club and Tony is looking to have more joint projects taking place between the town’s two leading service organisations. During his year of office, Tony is looking at supporting the ‘Wish Upon a Star’ charity and the club’s own project to raise funds for Portland College’s Sports Academy.

Tony said: “I am delighted to be the new president of Hucknall Rotary Club and I look forward to making a real difference to our community through Rotary.”
