Huthwaite-based Wooden Spoon Preserves’ tangerine and pink grapefruit marmalade with malt whisky and cardamom recently picked up a bronze prize in The World’s Original Marmalade Awards.

Held at the Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria in March, more than 2,000 entries were sent in by amateur and professional makers from all over the world.

Wooden Preserves sent in three marmalades to be judged and Lindsey said they were ‘absolutely amazed’ that they won a bronze.

“All of our dedication and hard work has been worthwhile,” she said.

“Hopefully by winning this award more people will become aware of us and will want to sample some of our delicious products.”

Awards organiser Jane Hasell-McCosh said: “Congratulations to Wooden Spoon Preserves on their award.

“It is one of a growing army of small artisan producers preserving one of our great British traditions.”
