Top marks for Shirebrook care home

Staff at the Richmond Care Home in Shirebrook are celebrating after receiving top marks following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The home once again receives five green ticks for full compliance, meeting all of the criteria and standards set down by CQC, a spokesman said.

In addition to the CQC recognition, the home’s kitchen staff managed once again a full 5* award from Environmental Health. Teresa Scott is pictured (left) receiving the award. She said: “We put so much effort into creating and serving excellent food

Director Elaine Hudson said: “”It is very difficult to achieve the CQC inspections five green tick standard and to do it twice in a row is remarkable.

“This has been achieved because of the way we care for and look after our residents.”

Staff responsible for medication also received a 5* award credit at the latest medicine and medical room review inspection.

This award was accepted by deputy manager Leanne Newcombe and Shelley Tansley (pictured right).

Manager Kate Birch said: “All the staff have worked very hard to achieve this and we are all delighted that CQC has recognised all of our efforts and achievements.”
