The closure of Annesley Road has sparked misery for motorists in Hucknall.
Readers took to social media to vent their frustration at the works which have seen traffic diverted along Ogle Street as National Grid repairs gas pipes.
Works began on Monday 26th January and are expected to last until Tuesday 31st March.
Ian Young said: “Hucknall roadworks are an absolute joke. The diversion in Annesley Road meant that all traffic is diverted through Ogle Street. Three buses all trying to get up the road at the same time, total chaos!
“It’s bad enough just one bus traveling along Ogle Street.”
Robert Copley said: “The roads in general are a joke. Labour councils have done nothing with the monies from Government to repair roads in Hucknall. Just look what they have done at the end of Papplewick Lane to Moor Road through the wood. That is a complete joke!
“At least Conservative county council did re-lay quite a lot of roads and streets in Hucknall when they were in power. Labour, just look at the state of the high street and road markings throughout!”
Jayne Anthony said: “The school run is a nightmare as well with the traffic.”
A spokesperson for triio, who are carrying out the works, said: “Businesses affected by our work may be eligible for compensation. We have been providing details about this to local businesses but if anyone has not yet received an information pack they can contact National Grid customer services on 0800 096 5678.”
