Hucknall and Bulwell will be getting into the Chrstmas spirit next week.
There will be nine events across Ashfield, starting on December 1st, with Hucknall’s Christmas lights being switched on at 7pm on Wednesday in Hucknall Market Place.
In Bulwell, there will be a Santa’s Grotto outside the Wilkos entrance on Monday, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm as part of the Bulwell Christmas Festival.
It is for children up to the age of eight, and will cost 50p.
All the proceeds will be donated to Maggies Nottingham Cancer Support at the City Hospital which is Wilkos’ chosen charity this year.
The lights will be switched on at 5pm.
Councillor Ginny Klein, Bulwell Ward, said: “We’re all looking forward to it.
“It’s great to see the market place being used and children have helped to make the tree decorations.”
Hucknall councillor John Wilmott said: “The good thing about the ceremony is that it improves year after year, and the crowds get bigger.
“Everyone is looking forward to it as it’s now a special occasion for Hucknall.
“The parade starts at Tesco at about 6.30pm.”
