Tragic teen Corah loses battle against terminal illness

Corah Slaney, 16 died at King’s Mill Hospital this morning where she was being treated for her condition Mitochondrial disease.

Her family were too upset to talk to Chad today, but family friend Sali Gray, said they were grateful for all the support they have received during her illness.

Sali started the fundraising website AChorus4Corah to help create a wet room at Corah’s home which was due to be finished in a few weeks.

She said there had been an outpouring of grief, with thousands of people visiting her Facebook page today.

Sali added: “We are all heartbroken. This morning dear sweet Corah passed away... Thank you all for your love and support & for the generous donations made to the www.youcaring.com/achorus4corah appeal. Words cannot express our gratitude.

“It is just a tragedy that someone so young has passed away.

“We were looking forward to do a red ribbon opening for her room but sadly that isn’t to be.”
