Tributes after road smash victim dies

Tributes have been paid after a Sutton woman lost her fight for life following a horror smash in the town.

Lisa Wykes (45) died at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre six days after the crash on 28th August.

Police said that her grieving family were too upset to talk about the tragedy this week.

Dozens of tributes have been posted on Chad’s Facebook page as members of the community mourned the loss of their friend.

Lisa had been travelling along Mansfield Road in a white Nissan Micra when it was involved in a collision with a silver Peugeot.

Ryan Clinton (21), of Gladstone Street, Mansfield, has been charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance or an MOT.

Following a brief appearance at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday 1st September, he was remanded into custody until his appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday 15th September.

A 24-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remains on bail pending further enquiries.
