Councillors recognised over 40 unsung heroes involved in Scouts, senior citizens’ groups, sports and social clubs and charity champions who have gone the extra mile to help others.

Certificates were handed out at Kettlebrook Lodge.

Among the recipients were family members of the late Jock Campbell who raised £130,000 for Help for Heroes, and Mick Hartshorn, Harry Burton and Malcolm Judge who laid the foundation stones for the Kimberley Pram Race, which raised over £100,000.

Cllr Trevor Rood said: “Commitment, dedication and hard work put in by so many for little reward is true testament to their love of helping others.”
