A Hucknall vicar is moving on to pastures new.

Revd David Ford of St John the Evangelist, Nottingham Road, is to become the Vicar of St Peter and St Paul, Northleach, known locally as the ‘Cathedral of the Cotswolds’.

As Priest in Charge of the Northleach Benefice in the Diocese of Gloucester, Revd Ford will also be responsible for seven Cotswold village churches.

Revd Ford, who has served the town since September 2011 says he will be sad to leave Hucknall but delighted to be returning to an area that feels so much like home.

“Having lived relatively close to Northleach for 13 years Liz and I are very much looking forward to returning “home”,” he said this week. “It has been a privilege to minister in Hucknall for these past three years and we will be leaving with many fond memories of people, places and events.”

Revd David Ford is also the Chaplain at The National Church of England Academy where he also served as a governor both here and at Broomhill Junior School.

His last service will be at St John’s on 27th July .

He will be licensed in St Peter and St Paul Northleach at 7pm on Thursday 4th September.
