Following the death of the Cantamus all girl choir founder in July, donations have been flooding into a memorial fund in her memory.

And organisers have now confirmed that Blidworth songstress Victoria, who started her singing career with Cantamus and now performs with opera quartet Amore, will be singing at the event.

Victoria, who studied at London’s Royal College of Music, has performed alongside Katherine Jenkins and opera star Russell Watson as part of Amore.

Paul Bacon, chairman of Mansfield Music and Drama Festival, said the plans for the concert on 1st February 2014 have now been finalised.

He said: “Both the senior and junior choir will be performing and we have managed to secure some brilliant guest performances.

“Victoria Gray will be performing at the concert and It is all starting to come together.”

Russell Watson and Katherine Jenkins will not be performing at the event, which is being held at the Queen Elizabeth Academy school hall.

District councillor Christine Smith and Mansfield Mayor Tony Egginton have both backed the Pamela Cook Memorial Appeal Fund.

A memorial bust is also planned of Pamela and is due to be created by North Yorkshire-based sculptor Joy Bentley.
