Video: Band release free Christmas single

Mansfield band the Good Rebels are getting into the seasonal spirit by releasing a Christmas single for free download.

The new band are using the rock and roll-style festive song, called Merry Christmas Everyone, as their breakout release.

Five-piece The Good Rebels were formed by lead singer Dan Brudzinski after his previous group Vespa disbanded.

They are planning to record an album in February.

Said Dan: “It is quite a serious song but spawned from our rock and roll roots.

“At the moment it is a free download but we would like to raise some money for charity with it.

“It is just great to get the group together and this is a bit more enjoyable.”

Dan describes the Good Rebels’ sound as alternative melodic Indie-rock - a natural progression from previous band Vespa.

The four-piece formed in 2006 and played regular tours up and down the country in venues that included Liverpool’s Cavern Club, Brixton Academy, the Dirty South pub, Lewisham, and a headline show at Mansfield’s Town Mill last but not least.

Said Dan: “We have played alongside musical heros such as The Specials’ Terry Hall and Paul Bonehead Arthurs from Oasis.

“We have also played on ex-Creation Records boss Alan Mcgee’s Greasy Lips nights around the country.”
