It was the perfect Christmas present for many of these parents despite having to spend the festive day in hospital.

These adorable babies were born in the early hours of Christmas morning, as families shared their joy at their little wonders.

Staff at King’s Mill maternity were hard at work from the early hours of the morning, as they welcomed eight tiny new arrivals into the world.

Toni Green and Adrian Mills celebrated the arrival of their first daughter.

Paige Susan Mills was born at 9.27am and weighed in at 6lb 7oz.

Adrian , 32 of Rainworth said:”It is brilliant being a dad for the first time. Toni and Paige are doing really well.”

Tiny Rory Ivan McGregor-Watts was born on at 7.47am at 5lb 5oz to Phillipa McGregor and Stephen Watts, of Rainworth.

Proud mum Phillipa 29, said her first born’s arrival came a little early at 34 weeks and five days.

She said:”It was a bit of a shock to the system but he’s lovely and he’s doing well.

“We had left everything to sort out after Christmas.”

The arrival of 9lb 4oz Matthew Elliott Ward at 5.26am was a ‘lovely present’ for parents Peter and Anne Marie, from Sutton.

Peter, 38, said is was quite a surprise for their son to have arrived a few days early in time for Christmas.

He said: “It almost made the rest of Christmas disappear... but it was absolutely worth it.”

First-time parents Sam Barnes and Charlie Norcott welcomed their son Riley-Matthew Martyn Barnes into the world at 1.07pm, weighing 8lb.

Dad Sam, 23, from Sutton, said they were getting impatient, as the baby was a week overdue when he arrived.

He said: “We are so happy he is finally here. You can’t get a better present than this.”

Bobby Rae Cox came into the world at 3.27pm into the arms of thrilled mum Kacia Gaughan and dad Robert Cox, of Warsop.

Mansfield couple Iwona and Jogrzejorz Orciuch are ‘really happy and excited’ after daughter Miya was born at 6pm on Christmas Day.

Iwona, 29, said Miya, born two months prematurely, was doing well in the maternity unit.
