VIDEO: Create Christmas Choir take part in festive fun

A glittering festive market came to West Nottinghamshire College for Christmas shoppers to enjoy.

Members of the public enjoyed seasonal songs from the Create Christmas Choir, who are raising funds for the Little Princess Trust, while browsing a range of market stalls for gifts on Wednesday.

Featuring more than 20 stalls, the market saw students selling yuletide goodies such as Christmas puddings and greetings cards, novelty gifts, sweets and jams in the college’s new covered courtyard at the Derby Road campus.

All products were handmade by students as part of entrepreneurial projects while on their courses and all profits made from the market will go towards investing back into each business initiative.

Foundation studies learners also collected money to donate to the Cat’s Protection League and representatives from Help For Heroes will be there collecting donations for the well-known UK military charity.

Entitlement, enterprise and employability manager Cate Hunt said: “The festive market was a wonderful opportunity to invite members of the public, staff and students to come along and enjoy a wonderful atmosphere and buy some quality handmade gifts in the lead up to Christmas.

“Our enterprising students have worked so hard both on making and presenting their products and organising the market day itself.”
