Video: Man airlifted to hospital after suffering severe head injuries in Mansfield

An elderly man was taken to hospital by air ambulance suffering from severe head injuries following an industrial accident in Mansfield this morning.

The air ambulance landed in the vicinity of Linneys printers on Adamsway at 9.11am, shortly after first-responders from East Midlands Ambulance arrived at the scene.

A spokesman for the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance told Chad that a man aged over 60 had suffered a severe head injury after pallets fell on him.

It is understood that the man, who has not been named, was working on the back of a lorry when the accident happened.

He also received a fracture to his left ankle and a break to his left leg, the spokesman said.

The man received treatment from paramedics at the scene before being flown to Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre.

His current condition is not known.
