Ashfield Activities Association organised the Skegby and Stanton Hill event for the first time and put on a host of festive activities for all the family to enjoy.

A Michael Bublé tribute sang to the crowds and Disney princesses brought some fairytale magic to the evening.

However, the most talked-about attraction seems to have been Father Christmas, who was extremely popular with young and old visitors.

Naiomi Mathis, one of the organisers, said: “We are really pleased with how it turned out.

“A lot of the comments that we have had are about how amazing Santa was.

“The highlight though was that the public braved the winds, wrapped up and came out to take part in it.”

The event was a real community celebration and involved local residents, businesses and schools.
