Vintage, collectables and cakes

A CAFE owner, antique dealer and former model have joined forces in a business collaboration in Hucknall.

Rusty’s Coffee and Collectables on Titchfield Terrace, just off the High Street, is not your average coffee shop after Russ Charlton formed a partnership with Sue Simmons and John Hackett.

The trio have merged their skills to bring something different to the town which is proving a winning combination.

“Our visitors are coming from far and wide as well as our local regulars to see what we have in store,” said John who has styled the shop on similar ones in Matlock. “We have a vintage room where people can sit and have coffee and cake from the cafe and watch old movies like Top Hat and The Great Gatsby.”

The shop was officially launched on Easter Saturday and is already proving popular.

“We are attracting people from all over and from all backgrounds,” added John. “They seem to really like it as it is something different.

“Our visitors love to sit amongst all the nick nacks, vintage collectables and artwork whilst enjoying the refreshments on offer.”

But all the items of interest in the shop are not merely for show - they are for sale too.

“We hope that people continue to enjoy what we offer.”
