TWO Bulwell men have been quizzed over a violent armed robbery in Sheffield where £35,000 was stolen from a security guard filling up a supermarket cash-machine.
Police say two men, armed with baseball bats, attacked the guard at the Tesco superstore on Infirmary Road, Upperthorpe on Thursday May 5.
The victim was hit across the chest and arm. So much force was used that one of the bats cracked.
The offenders made off with a cash-machine cassette that contained the money. They escaped in a vehicle fitted with stolen number plates.
The Bulwell men, aged 24 and 25, have not been named or charged.
