All of the residents at Herbert Buzzard Court received a present at their Christmas party after Boots donated hundreds of pounds worth of products including perfumes, shampoos, moisturisers and other gifts.

Debra Mundle, who manages the retirement housing scheme, contacted local businesses to see if they could help. She said: “We have been overwhelmed with the response from Boots and Tesco, who have both been extremely generous.

“We wanted all of them to have a gift this year which is why I contacted some local businesses in the hope we could get hold of some things to give out.

“Boots have been so generous, and Tesco, which has supported us throughout the year, has been great and the Community Champions, Jan Lees and David Stapleton, make a brilliant Mr and Mrs Claus.”

Mr and Mrs Claus were also on hand at the Hankin Street court last Wednesday to give residents their gifts.
