Volunteer praised for charity work

A Mansfield man is amongst 10 people from the Midlands named as Diamond Champions, an accolade which aims to recognise outstanding volunteer work in Great Britain.

Ken Gell, from Mansfield , will be amongst the winners attending the awards event, at Lancaster House in London on 30th January, organised by charity Royal Voluntary Service.

Sam Ward from the charity said: “All the nominees are fantastic examples of the incredible volunteering work being done by older people across the Midlands.

“They are truly deserving of the honour and it is justified recognition of the selfless work they do in their communities.”
