Storm Gertrude is set to hit the UK tomorrow with a Met Office warning in force for the East Midlands.
Heavy rain, high winds, snow and ice are set to cause disruption across the country, with amber ‘be prepared’ and yellow ‘be aware’ warnings issued across much of the UK.
In the East Midlands, a yellow weather warning for strong winds is in force from 1am on Friday to 6pm on Friday.
A Met Office spokesperson described the situation as “complex” and said: “Parts of the UK will be subject to severe weather patterns with snow, wind, ice and rain.
“However, this precipitation should be lighter by the middle of the weekend.”
The Met Office warn travelers in affected areas to be aware of the potential for disruption to travel.
