Wicked weekend planned for bishop

Churchgoers in Kirkby have arranged a special weekend of events featuring the Bishop of Sherwood.

Worshippers from St Wilfrid’s Church have organised ‘Wilfrid’s Wicked Weekend’ from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th November, with the support of the Rt Rev Tony Porter.

On Friday, Bishop Tony will be visiting Greenwood Primary School and Jeffries Primary School.

On Saturday 16th November, the bishop will attend a men’s breakfast at the Regent, in Kingsway, and speak about his experiences working as a chaplain to Manchester City FC.

Meanwhile, wife Lucille Porter will be speaking about families at an event at the Ark Bookshop, in Station Street.

Bishop Tony will also lead Holy Communion and a family service on Sunday.
