A WINTER quiz is being fired up to keep a fundraising appeal in aid of Hucknall Parish Church on the boil.
The event is at the John Godber Centre on Ogle Street on the evening of Thursday December 15.
Money made from ticket sales, which includes all quiz sheets, will go towards the ambitious £150,000 church-tower restoration fund.
Parts of the tower at the iconic Market Place church are crumbling.
Cracks were discovered during an architectural assessment earlier this year.
Several buttresses require attention and sandstone brickwork is in need of repair.
Church leaders took action by launching a fighting fund, with the aim of collecting enough money for the necessary works to bedone before the building becomes unsafe and has to close to the public.
The entry-fee for the quiz night will include a turkey cob, roast potatoes and a mince pie for all. The top prize is a gallon of beer or wine for the winning team.
