Woman injured in Sutton car smash dies

A woman who was seriously injured in a collision in Sutton last week has died.

Local woman Lisa Wykes died in hospital last night (Tuesday 2 September 2014) after the crash, which happened on Thursday evening (28th August).

The 45-year-old had been travelling along Mansfield Road in a white Nissan Micra when it was involved in a collision with a silver Peugeot.

Ryan Clinton, 21, of Gladstone Street, Mansfield, is charged in connection with the incident.

He appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance or an MOT.

He has been remanded into custody until his appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday 15th September.

A 24-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remains on bail pending further enquiries.
