WW1 commeration cash now available

Groups in Hucknall and Bulwell can now claim up to £300 to help them commemorate the Great War in their local area.

Nottinghamshire County Council has approved £10,000 per year grant aid funding which will offer financial support to local groups to bring the history of war to life and help people understand how the war impacted on their community.

The Community Commemoration Fund will attract applications from a range of groups including historical societies, parish councils and schools.

All applications must be supported by the group’s county councillor.Groups can apply for funding by downloading an application form from www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/trenttotrenches

The first round of applications will cover events and activities taking place before 1st September 2014.
