Youngsters coached by Viva choir

Youngsters in Tibshelf and Pinxton are being given the opportunity to work alongside a choir and orchestra to unleash their musical talent.

More than 50 children from cubs, brownies and scouts in the area will work with Sinfonia Viva to perform at a special concert later this month.

The children will be taught animal themed songs for the concert on 16th November at the Pass Centre in Kirkstead School, Pinxton.

The project is funded and organised by Bolsover District Council, with support from Viva.

Coun Ann Syrett, cabinet member for social inclusion, said: “Animal Magic is designed to encourage and develop singing skills in our young people, whilst ensuring that the whole experience is fun as well as rewarding.

“We have a wide range of musical activities going on across the District, so it is great to be able to welcome Sinfonia Viva back for this exciting and innovative project.”

The concert starts at 6.30pm.

Tickets for the performance cost £2 and are available from South Normanton Hub, Shiners Way DE55 2AA.
