READING the article in the Dispatch of Friday June 29 (‘Fifth Of Households In Fuel Poverty’) I do believe that the problems in Bulwell are being felt in many more areas, including Hucknall.
I have tried, in the not-too-distant past, to get Hucknall’s Conservative MP, Mark Spencer, to lobby the Chancellor in order to try and get VAT removed from domestic fuel.
I believe that although VAT at five per cent on domestic fuel appears to be only a small amount, this five per cent removal will help families, pensioners and many others with the cost of electricity and gas and any other essential services.
I also believe that VAT on these essentials to be extremely unfair and dare I say, immoral.
Anyone know how to start a campaign to get this removed?
