THE Hucknall branch and I cannot thank enough you, the people of the town and the surrounding area, for your generosity in last year’s Poppy Appeal. Also the shops, pubs and clubs for their help.
The appeal raised £20,071.91, which was up on the previous year.
I would like to give special thanks to the Air Training Corps cadets, the Army Cadets and the branch members for helping to raise money for the Poppy Appeal in Hucknall on Saturdays.
The branch also raised money in the Tesco superstore, while the women’s section of the branch raised money at the B&M Bargains store.
I must also thank all the other people who helped by taking and returning poppy boxes.
There were some special donations made to this year’s Poppy Appeal from Hucknall Liberal Club. Other donations were made by people who did not leave their names. And the Hucknall branch of the Co-op funeral director’s also allowed the branch to dress its window.
I cannot thank all of you enough for the generosity you gave.
