New homes would have dire consequences for Hucknall

IF you are not already aware, Gedling Borough Council is thinking of putting most of its new housing on the very outskirts of its district, at Top Wighay Farm on the Hucknall and Linby border.

The damage to the Green Belt, countryside environment, flora and fauna, infrastructure and services by 4,500 homes being built would be too horrific to contemplate.

Despite Top Wighay Farm (pictured) being adjacent to Ashfield’s border, not one penny of the council tax which would be levied on those homes will come to Ashfield.

The impact of at least 4,500 extra vehicles would have dire consequences for Hucknall and the roads near to the site, creating gridlock and mayhem.
