Quick-thinking bus driver saved cyclist’s life

I am full of praise for a bus driver whose quick thinking probably saved the life of a teenage cyclist.

It happened when I returned home to Bulwell on a Nottingham City Transport bus last Saturday evening.

The bus had just started up again after I got off at the Cantrell Road stop when the cyclist suddenly shot across the front of the vehicle.

The woman driver had to jam on her brakes to avoid a collision with the cyclist. The youngster grinned sheepishly and waved his arm at the driver, possibly to apologise or thank her, as he rode away down Latimer Close.

The cyclist was not wearing a helmet and it could be said that he narrowly escaped what might have been very serious injuries.
