Shame on Ashfield District Council for snubbing local hero at bus-naming ceremony

CAN Ashfield District Council explain why, at the ceremony to name a Connect bus after local hero Lance-Corporal Paul Sandford, no councillors were present?

Approximately 20 people attended the ceremony. They included Paul’s family and friends.

Sergeant-Major Jason Peach was there to pay his respects to the young soldier who fought with him in the Mercian Regiment.

It is only four years since Paul died in a battle at Helmand Province, Afghanistan. How soon our council forgot!

Thankyou Trent Barton for remembering our hero and shame on you, Ashfield Council, for forgetting.

May Paul’s memory remain with the ones who care.
