How many Coronavirus deaths have there been in your local area? Use this interactive map to find out

A new interactive map can show you how many people have died from COVID-19 in your local area.

The map has been created by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

According to the ONS, there were 81.2 deaths involving coronavirus per 100,000 people in England and Wales from 01 March to 31 May 2020, and registered up to (and including) 6 June 2020.

The worst affected neighbourhood Crabtree & Fir Vale, in Sheffield, has seen 66 people die during that time period.

Sarah Caul, Head of Mortality Analysis, Office for National Statistics said: “Although London had some of the highest COVID-19 mortality rates in the country during March and April, it is now experiencing lower mortality rates compared with most areas.

"During May, the region with the highest age-adjusted COVID-19 mortality rate was the North East, where the rate was double that of London.

"The South West region continued to have the lowest mortality rate overall and during each of the last three months."
