Devizes Castle in Wiltshire once housed important prisoners including Robert Curthose who was the eldest son of William the Conqueror and Hubert de Burgh, the first Earl of Kent. The castle is now available to holidaymakers, offering accommodation to 15 people and eight bedrooms.

If you want accommodation on a larger scale, head to Pentillie Castle on the banks of the River Tamar in Cornwall. The castle can accommodate 22 people, making it the perfect place for weddings or birthday celebrations.
