Boothy’s move to top of Mansfield and District League with draw against Hucknall

Boothy’s moved back to the top of the Mansfield and District League table with a thrilling draw against Hucknall 50+.

Man of the Match Dick Johnson scored a maximum for the visitors with Stuart Chadwick and the evergreen Roy Drew both winning two of their matches.

Stuart and Derek Clarke then won a tense doubles match to earn Boothy’s the draw.

Zygabyte Old Bats started the second half of the season with a convincing win over Boothy’s Ravens 8-2.

Rob Vaughan won his thirdPlayer of the Match performance, being the only player to win all his games. N

New team member Matt Williams, making his league debut, made a solid start winning two of his three single matches.

After losing the first six matches of the season, Jacksdale D are now unbeaten in the last three games (two wins, one draw) and move off the bottom for the first time with a 6-4 victory over New Cross Snipers on Friday Night.

Tony Swain, for the Snipers, won all his games and won player of the match but it was not enough as the young lads from the Jacksdale D put in some great performances and went into the doubles 5-4 up.

The Swain Brothers pairing who were unbeaten this season going into the final doubles game were confident of maintaining this record and gaining the draw, but Joshua Hall & Billy Melrose played very well and came back from 2-1 down and took the doubles and in turn took the match 6-4.

Only one match was played in Division one this week Jacksdale B started the new year in good form winning their 1st match of the season beating Jacksdale C who are still looking for their first win of the season.

Russ Webster was player of the match, with Nigel Parlor also winning all his games, John Fordham for Jacksdale C got a consolation win with a 3-0 victory of Malcolm Allsop.
