Bore draw wins the day for Dave Lilliman on Holmedale

Dave soon had a steady stream of carp falling to his pellet attack on the roof.

A switch to his margin line late on proved to be not as productive, but a change back onto the bore hole saw him back in business, landing a couple of decent carp late on to elevate him into first place with a cracking weight of 117lb 13oz.

Second place went to Tony Smith from peg 39, who had all his fish down the margins to amass over a ton with 109lb 11oz taken on dead reds.

The third ton of the day went to Dave Johnson, fishing from peg 17 to amass 106lb 8oz all taken on pellet.

Another match on Holmedale saw Will Creswell catching from the start to the end for victory.

He fished the pellet and paste down the margins at peg 17 to record 166lb of carp to 8lb. Runner-up Shaun Moss was 50lb behind the winner with 116lb 1oz of carp to 8lb, caught on the pole and meat out on the top 2 +2.

The Wednesday Autumn League match on Holmedale produced another massive weight from the lake and another big weight from Martyn Brown. Fishing the pole and paste out and down both margins at peg 21 on the edge of the big bay, he landed 54 carp to 7lb for a total of 208lb 15oz.

In second place Andy fished the pole with pellet and corn, landing 44 smaller carp to 6lb and a total of 140lb 4oz.

On Sherwood Lake, winner Dave Round drew peg 41 and there was only going to be one winner.

Fishing the pole and caster out at 7m, he took 33lb of skimmers and 50lb of carp from the margin on sweetcorn.

In second place Steve fished the pole and caster for ide and skimmers to 2lb plus four bonus carp to 5lb.

Church Warsop & District AC’s Nick Greensmith made it two wins out of two on consecutive outings.

At Jansens Fisheries Monroes Pond, Nick drew peg two and made full use of a favourable wind.

Starting on the paste and short pole, he soon had the carp queuing up at the end of his keepnets and a switch to maggot on the top two resulted in 109lb 15oz for a comfortable win.

A week earlier at Ollerton’s Little John Lakes, Nick drew peg 26 on Maid Marion and alternated between pellet waggler to the island and pole at 11m, taking a winning 68lb 4oz.

Their trip to Lodge Farm Fishery proved a frustrating match for some with fish topping all over the field lake but proving a bit harder to catch.

But it proved no trouble for club secretary John Dunlop.

He drew peg three and managed to keep small carp coming on the pole at 10m with banded pellet on the hook for a matchwinning 54lb 4oz.
