Chance to try out rugby

Mansfield Rugby Club is inviting youngsters to give the sport a go during two open days/come and try mornings at Eakring Road, starting this weekend.

Club scouts spotted high numbers of skilled boys and girls during the Mansfield Schools Tag Rugby competition that was held in May, where primary school pupils played competitive tag rugby.

Mansfield wish to increase their numbers of year one to six players and are inviting all players to attend and experience rugby in the atmosphere of the Eakring Road ground

The sessions are also part of the club’s a recruitment drive for next season, which is a massive season with the Rugby World Cup being staged in England.

The free sessions will be held on Saturday mornings 21st June and 28th June (10.30-noon) and will incorporate fitness, core skill training, tag rugby matches, touch rugby matches and developing confidence.

The sessions will be undertaken by Mansfield RUFC Academy coaches who are CRB-checked and fully qualified for this specific age group to give the children greater ‘one on one’ coaching time to develop their skills
