Cobra youngsters show sting

Kirkby club Cobra Freestyle Kickboxing sent a couple of its younger students to the Werrington Sports Center to compete in the Peterborough Championships Series, sponsored by Strike UK.

Konrad Smith came fourth after some very hard fights in the Advanced Light Continuous U25kg category, while Connor Severn came third in the Beginners Light Continuous O25kg category.

Other members of Team Cobra were fighting from Alfreton Kickboxing, and the team came away with two golds, two silvers, one bronze and two fourth places overall.

Another member of the ABMAA, Gwilym Ryhs Walker, who is the current ISKA world champion, recently returned from Germany where he fought as part of Team Kwon in the WKU Battle of Hunstruck, coming a very close second, missing out on first place by just one point.
