Bassetlaw veterans return for charity game

Sunday 22nd June is a real red-letter day at the Blidworth Cricket Club on Burmah Road when they host the first of what could prove to be an annual event in the local cricket calendar.

From 10am onwards a six-a-side tournament will take place involving sides of senior players who graced the Bassetlaw Cricket League in the 1980-90s etc.

At that time the Bassetlaw League was without doubt one of the strongest combinations in the country.

A raffle will be held with around 50 fabulous prizes and the proceeds from this will go the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Admission and parking to the event is free and as well as the raffle other fundraising events will take place.

There will also be a barbecue, licenced bar and a live band will grace the stage in the evening.

Sqiggles Play Bus will be there between 1pm and 4pm.
