Outlaws thwart meteors threat in new video

Notts Outlaws players Ajmal Shahzad, Riki Wessels, Steven Mullaney and Sam Wood have thwarted the threat of meteors destroying Trent Bridge ahead of the launch of the NatWest T20 Blast.

The four were called upon to save their city during the filming of a video to promote the the launch of the competition ahead of next week’s tournament opener against Lancashire Lightning.

A combination of digital effects and live action was used by Affixxius Films to produce the two-minute epic which will precede the entrance of the players at all Notts Outlaws fixtures at Trent Bridge this season.

The Nottinghamshire venue will host seven NatWest T20 Blast home games in 2014, including five on Friday nights.

“We did all of our own stunts,” said Notts Outlaws bowler Ajmal Shahzad.

“It was a night shoot so it meant late finishes and early mornings but the end product has surpassed our expectations and it will set the tone perfectly for NatWest T20 Blast matches at Trent Bridge.”

Notts Outlaws have been well supported in recent seasons with attendances continuing to grow amidst plaudits for spectator experience.

Adult tickets for the opening fixture tomorrow (Friday) have been reduced to £10 for adults, £5 for under 16s and £7 for U21s and over 65s.

“We want to set the tone for the tournament in the opening fixture and a victory in front of a big crowd would be the perfect way to do that,” said Notts Outlaws all-rounder Steven Mullaney.

“The atmosphere at Trent Bridge is unique in cricket and I believe that we have enough talent and depth in the squad to be contenders.”

The promotional film, entitled ‘Cricket Has Landed’ in keeping with the ECB’s space theme for the tournament, is available to view now on the club’s official website; www.trentbridge.co.uk.
