A hat-trick by Adam Parkinson helped Hucknall side, THE NABB INN, force their way into the last 16 of the NOTTS SUNDAY MORNING LEAGUE’S Senior Section Cup.
Parkinson’s treble put Nabb in charge of their Second Round tie at home to Trent Bridgford Tigers, who play a division below them.
And although two goals from the visitors’ Sancho Quinn caused a few scares, the tie was sealed at 4-2 by Kemarnae McIndoe.
A STIRRING fightback from 2-0 down spared the blushes of Bulwell outfit EMPIRE in the Second Round of the NOTTS SUNDAY COMBINATION’S Edwin Varney Senior Cup.
Premier Division Empire trailed First Division mid-tablers AFC Nottingham, but recovered to triumph 4-3 thanks to goals from John Manders, Robbie England, Darren Ashley and Jamie Carter.
AFC Nottingham’s goals were scored by Steve Norris, Sam Malcolm and Tom Fleetham.
The ties involving MELLISH and AFC ROLLS-ROYCE were postponed -- and LORD NELSON were left wishing the same fate had hit them after a 9-1 spanking by Sycamore St Ann’s.
Sycamore, who play in the same division, raced home with goals from Clayton Carty (4), Corey Murray (3) and Jordan Lindsay (2).
Both leagues return to a full programme of league action this weekend.
