The Yellows manager has had contact with two players but admits he has no reason to tinker drastically with last season’s side.

“We brought Liam Hearn in where we thought we needed to improve,” he said.

“He wishes to stay next season and if we can make that happen it will be good for the club.

“I have spoken to two players, but I don’t add many to the squad at the beginning of the season anyway.

“They want to join us, we are where we are. I don’t see a reason to dismantle the squad too much from last season it is something I have done each year since I have been here. We know where we need to improve.

“It keeps continuity, we have built a relationship up and the players have bought into how we operate.

“Nothing is given, they have got to earn it and the players have bought into that.

“I am getting quite a few players wanting to come along and train with us in pre-season.

“I have said yes they can come, but in our minds we are not far off where we want to be already.”

Graves also hopes that Hearn can be more than just a player, with his contacts from his youth team work at Mansfield something Town could tap into.

“Without getting ahead of ourselves, and with respect to Liam, the chats we have had with Liam have been positive,” Graves added.

“He has highlighted a couple of players, which would be beneficial. “Things change fast in football though as we have see this season and nothing is signed and sealed.”

Graves was also full of praise for the hard work currently being put in by chairman Bob Scotney.

“My chairman has been absolutely magnificent,” he said. “He is up at the ground on his own every day preparing the pitches, maintenance, everything.

“He has retired but I think he is doing more work now than he has ever done and he is doing a magnificent job.

“My assistant is giving him help at distance, they are maintaining the ground, we have had the roof done. They are doing a great job.”
